FAQ
American Indian Celebration recognizes students who have completed bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs. Students earning only a certificate are not recognized in the ceremony.
You have to attend the celebration to receive a stole. Stoles bestowed upon students are only given at the American Indian Celebration ceremony, as it replicates the traditional ceremony of gifting a blanket as an honor for each individual student’s achievement.
Due to the number of graduates who registered to participate in the ceremonies, it has been our policy that students who attend the ceremony will be honored with the stole; the stole is draped on each student by one of our distinguished guests (either ASU American Indian faculty or staff, or a tribal leader) in attendance.
Graduating students may register to participate in the American Indian celebration by accessing the RSVP links on their My ASU graduation tab. See link: https://graduation.asu.edu/rsvp-attendceremony
